Prior to launch, all space-bound equipment must be tested on earth. In order to recreate the space environment, thermo-vacuum chambers of various sizes are employed to house the test equipment.
However, the test instruments are almost never compatible with the space environment leading to the condition of having to pass all connections through pressure differential walls that separate the two environments.
This is where hermetic connectors come into play and they need to possess distinct features allowing for multiple test configurations.
If you are curious to learn more about hermetic technology, join Positronic in our next webinar to understand the basics of hermetic connectors and tips for designing them into your next project.
